Established in 1993, the Carrie Young Memorial Drive for the Elderly raised approximately $50, donated generously by Forest Service employees in the area, which provided gifts for a few.
Each year raising a bit more money than before, and helping spread cheer a bit further. 2020 brought many challenges during a global pandemic, but also successfully brought in a total of $44,702.61, a record amount at that time. With much loss and uncertainty continuing throughout 2021, Grant County shined bright and reminded us of our strength raising just under $50,000! Remarkable. Proceeds provide gifts for all patients at local assisted living facilities and support approximately 225 elder living at home with groceries, electric credits, firewood, and everyday living essentials. Through generosity and goodwill of the Grant County community, the Carrie Young Memorial continues to shed a much-needed light during the Holiday season! |
